Many parents convince themselves that their children must have one for safety but in reality it is usually so the children are not looked own upon by their friends. However, they never foresaw this boom some years back but manufacturers have been quick to flood the marketplace with functional and high-tech cellular phones. Already the sale and use of landline phone has decreased despite the global reduction in call costs as cell phones become ever more useful. Always trying to be one step ahead, cell phone manufacturers have installed desirable functions such as different ring tones and endless screen background options called cellular phone wallpaper.

So what if you want to change the wallpaper on your phone; well all you have to do is look on the internet as there are plenty of web sites dedicated to it. Newer cell phones can also send images from one phone to another so your friends can share similar backgrounds, even from the built in digital camera. This new technology also allows for any type of digital image to be transferred, once uploaded, to your cell phone.

If that is not enough, just to personalize the cellular phone wallpaper a little more, an individual text message can be displayed on the image. Of course all this is more recent technology and not everyone changes their phone every six months and not having this facility should detract from the pleasure you can still have from using your cell phone. Still, even if your model cannot accept new screen backgrounds, it may well accept ring tones which will give you that personal touch. For a small number of cell phone users, none of this will matter at all because they only need the phone to make calls and the occasional SMS message.

You do not need to have special background or ring tone to send a text message do you? I suppose it is nice to be able to customize with cellular phone wallpapers but wouldn’t you prefer one that worked as well and didn’t just impress other people? Finally, keep in mind that intelligent cellular phone usage includes keeping in mind phone etiquette. You are not your phone so when you make calls remember that people are judging your behavior, not your phone’s appearance.

People around you in meetings for example will respect the fact that you are able to turn you cell phone off because it shows them deference. You may even get the respect from other users if you respect them they will not use their phone without thinking in situations that may annoy you. Respect and good telephone etiquette are a way to show others by example and should lead or shame them into doing the same.
