Period Horror FilmsHorror films go back as far as the beginning of movies themselves, over 110 years ago. Often in our view, we use vibrant imaginations to see ghosts in frightening shapes, to be sensitively connected to the unknown & to fear things that are doubtful. Watching a horror film gives an opening into that frightening world, into an outlet of the spirit of fear itself, without in reality being in danger.

Strange as it sounds, there is a very genuine thrill in being scared & watching horrific, disturbing images. Old obscure DVDs are really hard to find as concept of such films are very different from the one used now. Below are a few hard to find movies of old era.

Decoy (1945) - One of the most undervalue & (relatively) unknown Film Noir classics attributing what has to be the most horrible, most ruthless, cold, unrepentant, female bad characters ever. This film was 70 years ahead of its era. This movie is really amazing for horror movie lovers.

The Devil Rides Out (1969) - This Hammer Horror movie(B Horror Movie Night) starring the famous Christopher Lee, is one of the most excellent films on Satan & wealthy Devil parishioners ever & is an ideal instance of the stern but serious acting technique in the 70’s that can not be captured in 2007. Basically there is no way a recent actor could sincerely spout the conversation of this film with a straight face like the magnificent English actors did here in 1969.
